Three TransLink execs dismissed

TransLink’s executive board is getting smaller as the company announced plans to let go three senior managers.

Terry Peterson, chief information officer, John Madden, vice-president of human resources and Sheri Plewes, vice-president of engineering, are on the way out.

“The date is still a subject of discussion between TransLink and those concerned,” said spokesperson Ken Hardie. “But we are losing three good people.”

Hardie said the decision was not prompted by a recent comptroller general’s report that called for a slim-down of executives: “We started our own evaluations internally over a year ago.

These decisions are a result of that process, not just the report.”

TransLink is forecasting a $78-million deficit for 2009, according to a report published last Wednesday.
