The Nets made a late charge Sunday night in Atlanta, but fell short in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinals series against the No. 1-seeded Hawks as they fell, 99-92.
Atlanta jumped out to a 32-20 lead after one quarter but the Nets posted 30 points in the fourth quarter to climb back into it. Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez led the Nets with 17 points apiece.
Kyle Korver led Atlanta with 21 points.
Game 2 is Wednesday in Atlanta (7 p.m., NBATV).
