A local producer is casting carpenters for a new reality television series.
Del Arnold, a cardiology technician turned producer, is developing a reality television show called Home-in-a-Week.
“I came up with the idea about a year ago and just started playing with it,” he said. “Then I thought, why not take the jump, why not try it?”
The show will feature 30 carpenters who will have one week to build a home, he said. In each episode, workers will be eliminated until there are three left. Arnold will develop three pilot episodes before the new year. He said some local broadcasting companies have already expressed interest in the reality series.
In the end, the home will be sold to cover building costs and production fees, he said.
