Treat yo’self with free Citi Bike and Noosa Yoghurt

Citi Bike

If you’ve put off giving Citi Bike a try, the bike sharing company is removing a barrier (read: excuse) by making Wednesday a free ride day thanks to a partnership with Noosa Yoghurt.

Riders can enjoy a free ride and Noosa Yoghurt sampling events and breakfast bars located throughout Manhattan.

Tasting stations are set up through Sept. 3 “to bring [noosa’s] delicious, farm fresh yoghurt from the Colorado mountains to the streets of New York City.”

“There’s no better way to enjoy summer in New York than on a bike,” Citi Bike General Manager Jules Flynn said.  “Citi Bike is in more neighborhoods than ever before.  If you’ve been wanting to give the system a try, the Aug. 2 free ride day is a great time to do it. Many thanks to Noosa Yoghurt for giving New Yorkers the opportunity to give the blue bikes a spin.”

New Yorkers and visitors who want to take advantage of the free ride day can sign up online or through the Citi Bike app, where they will receive a free code to use at any dock in the service area for a half-hour at a time. The Noosa Free Day Pass in the app will expire at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 2.

Riders near Bowling Green Plaza that day can stop by the Noosa Breakfast “Brekkie” Bar event on the plaza 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Fifteen Tricycle Sampling events have taken place across the city throughout the summer.

“We’re so excited to partner with Citi Bike to bring free rides and delicious yogurt to New Yorkers looking to add a bit of fun and flavor to their day,” said Koel Thomae, co-founder of Noosa Yoghurt. “Noosa makes for the perfect snack or indulgent treat after a leisurely ride or a tough commute.”

In May, Motivate, Citi Bike’s parent company, proposed adding 6,000 bikes, which would make the bike sharing services available in all five boroughs.
