Tuesday gossip roundup: Ryan Lochte wants Blake Lively as his girlfriend

While he’s reportedly been in seclusion at Reese Witherspoon‘s Ojai, Calif., ranch since the revelation of girlfriend Kristen Stewart‘s cheating, Robert Pattinson can’t stay in hiding forever. Next week, in fact, he’ll be on live TV, sitting down for an interview on August 15 with “Good Morning America” to promote his new movie, “Cosmopolis,” a rep for the film confirms to Us Weekly. Pattinson is also expected to walk the red carpet at the film’s premiere two days earlier.

Madonna has drawn plenty of criticism for her current concert tour, but Elton John is hoping to stand out from the pack of detractors, apparently. “She’s such a nightmare,” John says in an interview with Australia’s Channel 7. “Her career is over, I can tell you that. Her tour has been disaster.” He also mentions that Madonna has “been so horrible to [Lady] Gaga” — who is the godmother to John’s son — and “looks like a f—ing fairground stripper.”

Despite 10 years of being clean and sober, Russell Brand still knows the pull of addiction. In a scene from his upcoming BBC documentary on the subject, Brand watches footage of his younger self doing drugs and is surprised by his reaction. “This is when you know it’s a disease. It doesn’t matter that I was in that flat in Hackney and now I’m in the Savoy. I’m jealous of me then,” he says, according to the Daily Mail. “It doesn’t make a difference to me. The money, the fame, the power, the sex, the women — none of it. I’d rather be a drug addict.”

It’s a poorly kept secret that the Spice Girls are prepping to perform at the Olympics Closing Ceremony next week, but apparently preparations for the gig aren’t going to great— thanks to diva demands by Victoria Beckham, according to Hollyscoop. “They are paying at least $15,000 for Victoria Beckham’s hair, makeup and stylist. In comparison, the other Spice Girls cost one-fourth of what Victoria is costing,” a source says. “All of the diva stories about Victoria are true. This is p—ing off the other Spice Girls. They don’t understand why she is getting special treatment.”

New U.S. Olympic swimming star Ryan Lochte knows what he likes when it comes to famous women. When asked by CNN’s Piers Morgan what famous woman he would choose to spend the rest of his life with, Lochte responded, “Uh, right now, Blake Lively. She is gorgeous.” And Lochte says he wouldn’t let Lively’s boyfriend, Ryan Reynolds, stand in his way if he were to meet her. “I would be like, ‘Hi.’ I’d be like, ‘You want to go to an island with me?'” he said.

Justin Bieber might have thought he was making a joke during a Rolling Stone interview, but Canada’s Congress of Aboriginal Peoples certainly isn’t laughing. “I’m actually part Indian,” Bieber said told the magazine. “I think Inuit or something. I’m enough percent that in Canada I can get free gas.” The line prompted Betty Ann Lavallée, a spokeswoman for the Congress, to respond, “Mr. Bieber’s comment that Aboriginal people are entitled to free gas is simply not true,” according to a statement to Canada’s First Perspective. “These kinds of remarks are another example of what Aboriginal peoples in Canada struggle with every day. It promotes the misconception that we are somehow getting a free ride.”
