Dennis Quaid plays reluctant lawman Ralph Lamb, based on the real-life sheriff who tried to clean up a mob-run Las Vegas Strip in the 1960s. Standing in Quaid’s way is Michael Chiklis, who plays the well-dressed archetypal gangster with roguish delight — a perfect foil to the gruff, cowboy hat-wearing rancher Lamb.
