‘The Secret Circle’

DRAMA. Cassie (the endlessly watchable Britt Robertson) discovers she’s a witch after her mother passes away in a mysterious accident and the teen is forced to move in with her grandmother. But in the whole abracadabra thing, Cassie’s not alone — other “gifted” kids in town believe she’s the key to completing the powerful circle of witches they hope to become. This supernatural soap is a perfect companion to “The Vampire Diaries”, with just as much potential to be a huge hit for The CW.

Series premiere, 9 p.m., The CW

‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’

COMEDY. In the Season 7 premiere we are introduced to Fat Mac, who is actually regular Mac, except he now carries around a garbage bag full of burritos — and an extra 50 pounds on his gut. Also in tonight’s opener, Frank wants to marry a hooker. And you just know she’s not the Julia Roberts kind of pretty woman.

Season premiere, 10 p.m., FX

‘The Vampire Diaries’

DRAMA. With “True Blood” limping to its season finale last Sunday, we’re more than ready for TV’s other vampire love triangle to return. But first, Elena and Damon have to find Stefan, who — if baddie Klaus had his way during the hiatus — has turned into bloodsucking “ripper.”

Season premiere, 8 p.m., The CW

‘Jersey Shore’

REALITY. Team Meatballs has a run-in with the polizia. That’s Italian for “police,” Pauly D.
