Two men died after being hit by cars in Queens on Saturday

Two men died after being struck by cars in Queens early Saturday morning, police said,

A 34-year-old man, who was attempting to cross the Long Island Expressway on foot around 169th Street, was struck and killed by a 2015 Toyota Suburban, cops said.

The driver tried to brake and swerve away, but wound up hitting the man as he ran from the center dividing wall into traffic, according to police. The driver remained at the scene.

EMTs removed the man to New York-Presbyterian Queens hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are withholding the man’s identity until his family is notified.

The second victim was a 22-year-old Stephen-John Salmon of Laurelton, Queens.

Salmon was traveling westbound on 140th Avenue on a motorcycle when a Toyota Highlander making a left turn onto the avenue, struck him, police said.

The driver of of the Toyota, a 45-year-old woman, remained on the scene after the collision.

According to the NYPD, Salmon was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident; EMTs took him to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
