Two men wanted for questioning in Brooklyn shooting of NYPD officer

Police have released surveillance footage of at least two men wanted for questioning in connection with the Fourth of July shooting of an NYPD officer.

Jamil Sarwar was shot in the leg in the Cypress Hills Houses in Brooklyn last Thursday night as he and another officer responded to a call about shots fired within the housing development.

Police have released two new surveillance videos depicting at least two persons of interest in the shooting. The first video shows a man pointing an object at another man in front of 1260 Sutter Ave.

The second video shows a man running out of a building and through a courtyard at 485 Fountain Ave.

Sarwar and the other officer heard shots and ran into 365 Fountain Ave. for cover when they realized that Sarwar had been shot, police said. It is still not clear if the officers were targeted.
