Police are searching for two state residents suspected of kidnapping a woman at gunpoint Tuesday evening.

Adynew Alves, 28 of Boston and Stephanie Walker, 28, of Lawrence are thought to have placed the victim in the trunk of a car somewhere near Boston and then driving south. Around 7:15 p.m. the victim was able to escape from the trunk on Rte 24 in Taunton, where she was subsequently helped by nearby motorists, who called police.

Alves and Walker then fled farther south on Rte 24 in a blue 1996 Nissan Sentra, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office. The car could have damage to the backend or tail lights and features a license plate number 478-PK4, according to the DA.

Update: Authorities have found that vehicle near the Taunton/Lakeville border.

As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, Alves and Walker were still at large and considered to be armed and dangerous, according to authorities.
