Boston police were on the hunt for a shooter Monday after a man opened fire on three people Monday afternoon in Roxbury.

The shooting occurred at 92 Academy Terrace around 12:45p.m, police said. A homicide investigation is actively underway.

The victims were two women and one man, according to police. Two have serious injuries and one sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a white tank top and cargo shorts driving a white pickup truck. The suspect was reportedly last seen driving down Academy Road toward Columbus Ave.

Investigators seek the public’s help in finding the suspect for what one Boston lieutenant called an especially heinous crime.

“[Bostonians] ought to be furious that people think it’s OK to pick up a gun and fire shots where there are children playing outside,” Lt. Mike McCarthy told Metro. “Any help they can give would be appreciated.”

Homicide units were being called to the scene, police said, which a BPD spokesperson said is a pre-emptive move in case victims succumb to their injuries.
