Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin said the state would work with the federal government to review safety on the tracks and analyze rock ledges after a rock slide led to a train derailment Monday morning. “We don’t want to go through this a second time,”Shumlinsaid.
Crews would have to move the trains with cranes, address fuel spillage and rebuild damaged tracks in order to get trcks operating normally, Shumlin said.
“This is not a 24-hour turnaround,” he said. “It’s going to take us some time.”
Emergency crews responded to a derailed Amtrak train in Roxbury, Vermont on around 11:30 a.m. Monday.
In a statement, Amtrak said there were no life-threatening injuries.
First responders are on the scene. There are no immediate reports of any life-threatening injuries.

Earlier, Amtrak tweeted that “emergency personnel are on scene and we are assessing the situation” and wrote that the derailment involved the 55 train.
At least four people were injured in the derailment, according to reports.

Listed online as the Vermonter, the 55 train passes through Massachusetts on its way from Washington, D.C. to Vermont, passing through New York, Connecticut and New Hampshire. No further information was available.
