The ongoing snowstorm has prompted the MBTA to suspend all rail services at 7 p.m. tonight, meaning no subway, trolleys or commuter rail trains will depart Boston after that time. Services will continue to be suspended all day on Tuesday. The T, running on a reduced scheduled because of the snowstorm, has been hampered by delays all day.
T service has been criticized recently as the region has been buried under snow. Many motors in the T’s antiquated subway cars are unable to run in inclement weather. Monday morning, a Red Line train got stuck between Quincy Center and Quincy Adams after a third rail froze.
