Sunterra’s newest location is a versatile spot for picking up a deli sandwich or sitting down in the modern cafe (or expansive patio) for a proper lunch.
The supermarket coolers are stocked with a wide assortment of ready-made sandwiches like bocconcini, tomato and basil on baguette ($5.99). Throw in a small Greek salad ($2.61) with big, fresh chunks of peppers, cucumbers, feta and pitted olives from the deli and you’ve got a healthy lunch.
The MARKETbar upstairs is a gussied-up cafeteria with several stations. It was quite hard to decide among the savoury and sweet crepes, pasta bar and carving station where a roast beef just came out of the oven.
I settled on a chicken and artichoke crepe ($6.49) expertly made right in front of me. The gigantic portion was stuffed with cubes of chicken breast, fresh and sundried tomatoes and a silky white wine cream sauce.
Nearby workers and residents will no doubt be keeping this market busy.
