VFS grads’ YouTube videos make Guggenheim shortlist

Four Vancouver Film School (VFS) students beat out more than 23,000 others to make it onto a short list of 125 videos for one of the Guggenheim Museum’s upcoming exhibits: YouTube Play, A Biennial Of Creative Video.

The New York City exhibit, which is the brainchild of YouTube and the Guggenheim, seeks to spotlight exceptional talent in online video.

“When I found out I was shortlisted … I just felt extremely giddy,” said Nicole Duquette, a 2010 VFS graduate. “I wanted to tell everyone, but the confidentiality of the announcement kept me from exploding.”

Joining Duquette are fellow VFS grads Paula Assadorian, Daniel Farrera and Kiko Pérez.
There are 20 more videos to be selected.

The videos will be picked by a jury of 11 luminaries, and will be presented Oct. 21 at a special event.
