VIDEO: Black Friday brawls as shoppers battle for popular items

Black Friday was met with brawling shoppers as fights broke out in malls across America.

Violence has erupted in several retail centers due to desperate shoppers battling for bargain deals on the notoriously busy Black Friday, the Mirror reported, adding that stores had taken extra precautions this year, after warnings from police that firms needed to ensure they had enough security staff on in case of any trouble.

At Mall St. Matthews in Louisville, Kentucky, shoppers wrestled each other in a crowded food court, the New York Daily News reported, adding that a police officer broke up the fight posted on Twitter, but it remains unclear what exactly caused the dispute.

A second fight video posted on social media Friday showed a shoving match between shoppers at a mall in Florence, Kentucky, the Daily News added, also stating that in both posts, onlookers shouted “World Star,” the name of a website that aggregates fight videos for online viewing.

Major retailer Target claimed that some of this year’s most popular items include Apple iPads, Nintendo Wii-U units and new “Star Wars” toys, according to a relatedForbes.
