Another Trump-themed cold-open on Saturday Night Live, another cold tweet from Donald Trump.

After attending an extravagent costume party on Long Island, the president-elect made time to watch SNL and engage in his favorite pastime this weekend, wasting no time to insult Alec Baldwin and the cast’s comical depiction of his transition to office.

In the skit, Baldwin as Trump is too distracted by his social media exploits to participate in intelligence briefings about North Korea and Pakistan. Instead, he gleefully retweets things from a 16-year-old high school dude named Seth (mocking an incident which really did happen during a recent tirade against CNN), and stuff from a guy with a skull and sword avatar (also an actual event.)

“Just tried watching ‘Saturday Night Live’ — unwatchable,” the president-elect tweeted. “Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse. Sad.”

Baldwin responded in a tweet from his Alec Baldwin Foundation account that he would quit satirizing Trump on one condition: “Release your tax returns and I’ll stop.”

In the episode, Kate McKinnon, as GOP aide Kellyanne Conway, explains that Trump’s tweets serve an important purpose.

“He does it to distract the media from his business conflicts and the scary people in his cabinet,” she said.

“Actually, that’s not why I do it. I do it because my brain is bad,” Baldwin, as Trump, said.

Seth, the young man who was honored both by Trump’s original retweet and SNL’s depiction, sided with the president-elect.

“Agreed, very unfunny,” Seth tweeted after the West Coast airing. “Regardless, thank you for retweeting me, and giving the opportunity to be mentioned on SNL.”
