VIDEO: Gosselin twins break their silence on ‘The View’

They can talk.

After a disastrous interview on NBC’s “Today” show, Mady and Cara Gosselin made a comeback on ABC’s “The View” on Monday morning and actually spoke. The twins and their mother, Kate Gosselin, were ridiculed after Thursday’s interview when Mady and Cara froze and Kate frustratedly egged them on. This time, though, the 13-year-olds were able to talk to Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters and the other hosts.

Sherri Shepherd asked the girls what they did to help around the house and Cara responded, with some prompting by Kate: “After dinner — go for it,” Kate said, then prodded her to speak. The girls looked at their mother before asking questions, prompting Goldberg to intervene: “Pretend she’s not there,” she said.

When Walters asked the twins if they resented their siblings, the room went silent again for a moment until Kate interrupted and said, “Mady, you’ve waited your whole life for this question.”

“You ruined my dramatic pause,” countered Mady. We may know now why the girls stayed quiet on “Today.”
