VIDEO: Occupy the MBTA to hold rally against fare hikes

Members of Occupy the MBTA put together a quick public service announcement detesting a vote scheduled Wednesday by transportation officials to raise fares and cut some services on the T.

The announcement highlights the group’s effort to rally on “National Day of Action for Public Transportation” on the State House steps Wednesday, April 4.

The group is asking for “a comprehensive state-wide plan for affordable and sustainable transportation that works for the 99%,” according to their website.

They are also battling back against fare cuts coming down the tracks, most likely starting in July.

Supporting organizations include the Boston Carmen’s Union and the Massachusetts Nurses Association, along with many others.
