The suspect them punched the victim in the face and said anti-white statements before fleeing the station, police said.

According to the New York Daily News, the victim — identified as Randy Aveille of Brooklyn — had gotten on the train with his fiancée after having dinner.

When they got on the train Aveille told the Daily News that the thought he saw actress Emily Bergl and the suspect was in his line of sight.

Once the couple got off the train, Aveille said that the attacker suckerpunched him in the head and also elbowed his fiancée in the head as she and another woman attempted to stop the attack, the Daily News reported. The suspect also then spit in the other women’s face before running away.

During the attack the suspect allegedly said “Someone get his white cracka ass off the floor. It’s a black neighborhood…You don’t belong here,” according to the Daily News.

Police are now investigating the attack as a possible hate crime.
