Video shows bear chase a snowboarder down a mountain (allegedly)

A video appearing to show a snowboarder unknowingly being chased by a giant bear down a mountain went viral on Monday.

The video was originally published by YouTube user Kelly Murphy, who claims that she had no idea she was being pursued by a giant bear while snowboarding down a mountain in Japan.

“OMG! I was going through my snowboarding videos and I found a bear chasing me,” Murphy wrote in the video’s description “I nearly got eaten! This was at Hakuba 47 in Japan, filmed yesterday! Be careful people!’

As the video began to go viral, people on the Internet began to call it a fake.

“Do they have brown bears in Nagano, in central Japan? Because that looks like a gigantic freakin’ brown bear. Nice try. I call fake.” YouTube commenter Spartan043 wrote.

One commenter even cited evidence that the bear was stolen from the popular video game, “Skyrim.”

“Bear animation from Skyrim + the same sound loop. Played Skyrim for like 2 years so as soon as I saw it, I knew it was fake,” BlizzPort wrote.
