VIDEO: Stephie Coplan & the Pedestrians say goodbye, play last show ever at Lizard Lounge this Saturday

All too often Boston loses some of our best and brightest bands to the greener (depends on your definition of green, but hey, we like it here) musical pastures of Brooklyn and beyond. But sometimes we just lose them, period.

Such is the case with Stephie Coplan & the Pedestrians. Former Tufts student Coplan first won over the hearts — and then the ears — of the Internet when she posted this video of herself listening to her jam “Jerk” spun on the radio for the first time (by Paul Driscoll on now defunct WFNX). It was all kinds of adorable and was the perfect, completely guileless platform to introduce the rest of the world to her band. Not long after, Stephie Coplan & the Pedestrians found themselves on a rapid rise — sharing a stage with the likes of Cake, Two Door Cinema Club, and Grouplove in last summer’s WFNX-presented “Seaport Six” concert at the Bank of America Pavilion.

Unfortunately, as it goes, nothing gold can stay and sometimes pop starlets on the rise have to break free to pursue solo projects (probably in BK) — in this case, the world of electro, a big divergence for Coplan. She announced as much in the above video she posted last week. Bummed to see the Pedestrians go or sad you never got to know them? They’re playing one last show to say farewell at Cambridge’s Lizard Lounge on Saturday night. The Voice‘s Charlotte Sometimes and Emily Huslander share the bill. Deets below.
