Video: Vince Wilfork does his best Boston accent

In our eyes, there are few things Paul Pierce and Vince Wilfork can do wrong.

Today we discovered that one of those things is a portrayal of the Boston accent.

Pierce, the former Boston Celtic turned Brooklyn Net, and Wilfork, the New England Patriot, recently starred in separate videos for DISH Network titled “Learn to Talk Boston.”

This may make more sense if you remember that DISH Network is the company responsible for the Hopper and the series of commercials that portray a loud, TV-loving family with a thick Boston accent discussing “the Hoppah.”

The popular athletes discuss various words in their commercials including “fibba,” “clicka” and “bihzah.”

Now we know Pierce and Wilfork are not new to the area – with a combined 24 seasons playing for Greater Boston sports teams – so we’re just hoping that their subpar portrayal of the Boston accent was the result of the script.

We’re glad they haven’t quit their day jobs.
