So the Patriots are about to get familiar with EJ Manuel.
The former Florida State star is finally expected to give the Bills stability at the QB position for the first time since Jim Kelly was under center in Orchard Park 17 years ago. Manuel was the 16th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and brings an exciting style of play to Buffalo (see above video for proof).
He showed to be tremendously effective from the shotgun in college and, of course, he can run the ball effectively – something that has many fantasy owners salivating. Draft nitpickers pointed to Manuel’s inability to hit on short-range passes due to some accuracy issues and happy feet in the pocket as two possible issues going forward.
Manuel had a superb senior season at FSU, completing 68 percent of his passes for 3,392 yards and 23 touchdowns. He threw 10 picks.
