VIDEO: Your life in 28,835 jelly beans

A video that breaks down the average American life by using jelly beans has gone viral.

It’s been seen more than 300,000 times on YouTube in the last two days. It’s not clear from the video who created it.

The video features roughly 28,835 jelly beans — one bean for every day the average American will life.

The pile of beans shrinks markedly as anniversaries in life are passed.

We sleep for 8,447 days. We eat, drink or prepare food for more than 1,600 days and will work for more than 3,200 days.

We will spend 1,099 days commuting or traveling, and will watch TV for a total of 2,676 days.

Household chores will take another 1,576 days, and we care for others for 564 jelly beans. We spend 671 beans in the bathroom and another 720 days in civic duties.

The video ends with the question: What will you do with the remaining pile of jelly beans, and how much of it do you think we’ve already used up? How much time have we spent worrying — and what would we do today if we only had one jelly bean left?
