The NYPD wants the public’s help in tracking down a group of violent thieves who roughed up an 18-year-old Bronx woman but failed to steal her cell phone.

A grainy video captures the trio trailing the young woman and tossing trash at her as she ran for the door at her College Ave. building in the 44th precinct.

One of the three young men is seen wearing a distinctive light purple/lavender jacket. He twice tossed a bottle at the woman before and after the other two young men physically attacked her.

The trio cornered her on her stairs at 7 p.m. on March 12, and demanded her phone, BUT the victim refused, cops said.

That’s when “suspect #1 proceeded to grab the victim from behind, place her in a chokehold, and push her against a railing,” the NYPD said in a statement. “Suspect #2 attempted to forcefully remove the victim’s cell phone from her hand. The suspects were unable to remove any of the victim’s property and fled.”

Suspect # 1 is described as black, 17-years-old, 5'9" tall, weighing 160 lbs., with brown eyes, and black hair. He had on blue jeans, a gray jacket, a light colored hooded sweatshirt and sneakers.

Suspect # 2 is described as black with a heavy build, and 5'7" tall. He also had on blue jeans, a light colored hooded sweatshirt, knit cap and a dark colored jacket.
