Vince Wilfork just may end his stellar NFL career in Foxboro, after all.

The Patriots defensive tackle agreed to a one-year, $8 million deal with New England that includes an option for two additional years and $3 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Earlier this week, the Boston Herald reported that Wilfork had cleared out his locker and removed his own nameplate at Gillette Stadium in disgust over the Patriots’ request to restructure his contract.

Schefter tweeted later Thursday night, “Wilfork could have made more on open market but didn’t want to relocate his wife and kids. So stays in NE on reworked deal.”
