Vincent headed to Verdun?

The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles will need a new head coach and general manager today, according to RDS.ca.

The French sister station of TSN reported yesterday that Pascal Vincent is leaving his posts with the Screaming Eagles to take the same jobs with the new Verdun Junior in Montreal. The report said an announcement will be made today.

The St. John’s Fog Devils are relocating to Verdun this summer.

Vincent has been with the Screaming Eagles since 1999. He received heavy praise for leading a rebuilding team to a 40-24-3-3 record this season and was named the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s coach of the year. He was also named general manager of the year in 2007.

Eagles president Paul MacDonald declined comment.
