Weather women across nation obsessed with the same dress

This is the second time a dress on the Internet has caught the world’s attention.

Weather women across the country have been wearing the same $23 dress from Amazon.

The dress was reportedly originally shared to a private Facebook group for weather women, and took off from there in popularity in the niche market.

"Someone stumbled onto 'the dress' and a few of us ordered it and shared pics of it on air in our group. Everyone saw how great it looked," Meteorologist Shelby Hays told TechInsider. "At $23 we could buy a handful of these dresses for what we normally pay for just one."

It wasn’t until someone shared a collage of weather women wearing the same dress on Imgur that people caught on to the national conspiracy. The national conspiracy being, in reality, more of an insight into the strict guidelines weather women are subject to when it comes to what they can wear on TV.

“Many female meteorologists are subject to a strict dress code for what they can and cannot wear on air. Patterns are considered ‘too busy’ and there are often regulations on sleeve length or style,” Tech Insider reported.
