"Someone stumbled onto 'the dress' and a few of us ordered it and shared pics of it on air in our group. Everyone saw how great it looked," Meteorologist Shelby Hays told TechInsider. "At $23 we could buy a handful of these dresses for what we normally pay for just one."
It wasn’t until someone shared a collage of weather women wearing the same dress on Imgur that people caught on to the national conspiracy. The national conspiracy being, in reality, more of an insight into the strict guidelines weather women are subject to when it comes to what they can wear on TV.
