The Patriots appear stubborn in their attempt to make their offense a tight end heavy operation in 2012.
New England signed free agent tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. to a one-year deal yesterday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Winslow, a former collegiate star at Miami, was drafted by the Browns in 2004 and most recently played a full season with Tampa Bay before being cut by Seattle last month.
He caught 75 passes for 763 yards and a pair of touchdowns last year for Tampa Bay. Winslow’s best NFL season came in 2007 with Cleveland when he caught 82 balls for 1,106 yards while scoring five touchdowns.
