With three weeks to go before election day, a new poll shows Jim Watson is boasting a big lead in the mayor’s race, but the campaign is far from over.
According to a poll conducted by Holinshed Research Group of 396 people randomly selected from across the city, Watson is leading the race with 36 six per cent of the vote.
However, with nearly 30 per cent of respondents saying they were still undecided, the race is still wide open, according to Holinshed president Frank Hall.
“It’s probably good news for Jim Watson and suggests Larry O’Brien has an uphill climb, but to say that this is a done deal right now is shortsighted,” he said. “That undecided vote is a wild card at this point.”
Holinshed has been tracking these numbers since the beginning of the summer, and they have barely changed by one per cent.
