After years of speculation and some recent controversy, there’s finally a black actor playing James Bond — and it’s not Idris Elba. Also, it’s not in a movie, so don’t worry, Daniel Craig, you’re not out of a job just yet.

“Selma” star David Oyelowo has been tapped to play the part of 007 in and audiobook for author Anthony Horowitz’s new Bond adventure, “Trigger Mortis,” according to the Guardian. If Horowitz’s name sounds familiar, that’s because he’s the author who caused an uproar earlier this summer for saying that fan favorite Elba is “too street” to play the super-spy.

But as Birth Movies Death points out, Oyelowo is not the first black actor to voice the character in audiobook form. That distinction goes to Hugh Quarshie, who narrated an audio version of “Dr. No.”

Oyelowo will actually be playing all the characters in the audiobook as well as providing the narration — it is, after all, generally a solo gig — but that doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy the moment.“I am officially the only person on planet Earth who can legitimately say,‘I am the new James Bond,’” he tells the Guardian. “Even saying that name is the cinematic equivalent of doing the ‘to be or not to be’ speech.”

Enjoy it, buddy.
