With the environment being the key issue of our times — rightly impacting just about everything from what we wear to what we eat, the Green Living Show is timely and relevant.
Anyone interested in eco-friendly fashion and beauty products, organic food, green energy sources, sustainable yet stylish home décor, eco-travel and tips on how to leave a softer footprint on the planet should make sure to check it out tomorrow to Sunday, at the Direct Energy Centre, CNE grounds.
Expect more than 200 environmentally responsible vendors, plus two fashion presentations daily, showcasing eco-chic wearables by Canadian talent working with 100 per cent natural and/or recycled materials.
Other highlights of the show include a native organic garden, short film screenings, kids’ green activity stations, celebrity chefs, interior designers and an impressive index of guest speakers such as eco-warrior David Suzuki, former U.S. vice-president Al Gore, as well as local CBC on-air personality Gill Deacon.

Knitty in the city
The Downtown (Toronto) Knit Collective, hosts its 10th annual Knitter’s Frolic Saturday.
This crafty bonanza boasts 22 workshops (Spindling 101, Organic Knitting, Scribble Lace) led by celebrated knitters and crocheters, as well as more than 40 vendors selling their handcrafted goodies to new and veteran knitwits.

Sundresses at Suzy’s
Nothing’s as quick, easy or comfortable than a well-cut sundress, and it need not be a major investment.
This season, many budget retailers offer a wide range of styles. At Suzy Shier, there’s an especially wallet-friendly medley of sweet frocks.
FF’s fave was the sleeveless deep V-neck style in Swiss-dot cotton with a subtly ruffled hem and a low back zip (available in chocolate, bright white and black for just $35). There were also several fetching babydolls and tunic-length cuts in bold prints, plus some colourful jersey wrap dresses (some with vibrant retro patterns).
