It’s not everyday you ask yourself “Will my naked body get me arrested someday?” However, ladies and gentleman of the Internet, today is that day.

Metro cares about you, and doesn’t want to see you get arrested for being naked in public (or private) in the wrong place.

So to prepare you, we have made a list of eight places that have unique laws regarding public nudity. Enjoy!

1. Singapore

It’s very, very illegal to be naked in Singapore — anywhere! For instance one man was fined several thousand dollars after neighbors saw he was naked in his home.

According to the blog The Island Online, “A court found a taxi driver guilty of being naked in his own home, I heard from a reader in Singapore. Chua Hok Hin, aged 56, was in his kitchen when his neighbours saw him in an unclothed state through his kitchen window. He was taken to court and fined S$2,600.”

So don’t ever be naked in Singapore ever, anywhere.

2. California

Although public nudity is legal in the state of California, some cities have enacted bans on the practice. Oddly enough these cities are among its most liberal: Berkeley, San Francisco and San Jose.

3. NYC

It is completely legal for men and women to be topless in New York City. The Big Apple also madeGoTopless.org’slist of topless “tested” cities.

4. Sweden

Sweden has a very strange set of rules regarding its stance on public nudity. For one thing, it’s not explicitly illegal to be topless in the country, but establishments can have dress codes that prohibit it.

A case from 2009 resulted in a Swedish town legalizing toplessness at a public pool. Those behind the decision were quotes as saying “We don’t define what bathing suits men should wear so it doesn’t make much sense to do it for women. And besides, it’s not unusual for men to have large breasts that resemble women’s breasts.”

5. Germany

Germans freaking love getting naked. They love it so much they even have a word to describe it: “Freikoerperkultur” which means “free body culture.”

One writer for CNN wrote:

“Baring all is normal in saunas, swimming pools, the park and on the beach. Summer in the parks of Berlin and Munich brings the chance of encountering a middle-aged, bronzed German wearing only a hat and the BILD-Zeitung, Germany’s favorite tabloid. Forget sausages and beer, the sign of true German-ness is publicly disrobing with absolutely zero self-consciousness.”

6. Tampa, Florida

In the state where everything that is weird, odd, or unimaginable is a daily reality, it is reportedly illegal for strippers to be topless near alcohol.

7. Louisiana

You can be plenty naked all you want. Hell, you can show off your “genitals, pubic hair, anus, vulva, or female breast nipples in any public place or place open to the public view” as long as you don’t intend to arouse anyone.

8 Villahermosa, Mexico

Planning on being naked in a private home in Mexico? You might want to rethink that.

If your neighbor happens to catch you, you’re in for “36 hours in jail or a fine of $121,” according to CBS.
