The Giants are looking to boost their receiving corps this week as they worked out former Patriots and Broncos slot star Wes Welker as well as Hakeem Nicks, who helped New York to a win over New England in Super Bowl XLVI.

Welker recently had three concussions in the span of 10 months and caught only 49 balls in 2014 – his worst output since his rookie season in 2005.

“I don’t want Wes to play [anymore] for my own personal reasons,” former Broncos teammate Champ Bailey told FOX Sports earlier this year. “I’ve seen him get concussions. It scares me. I think he can still play, but I don’t want him to play because of these concussions … This thing is no joke. It’s a serious thing when you start talking about your head. And for him to have to worry about that at a young age that he is now, he has to think about that for years to come, and I just hope he hangs it up and [doesn’t] strap it up again.”

It was assumed the 34-year-old Welker would retire as, just a few weeks ago he Tweeted out a picture of one of his newborn twins with a poop stain.

“This is what my Monday Nights look like these days! #blowout #twins #GameChanger,” Welker wrote.

Welker was a favorite target of Tom Brady in New England from 2007-12 but head coach Bill Belichick, deemed him replaceable in a somewhat messy divorce in March of 2013.

The Giants and Patriots play at the Meadowlands on Nov. 15.
