The 2016 NBA Draft Lottery will take place on Tuesday, March 17 as the draft order for 14 teams will be finalized.
ESPN will broadcast the NBA Lottery with a show beginning at 8 p.m. but the picks aren’t typically announced until late in the broadcast. In other words, if you tune in at 8:20 p.m. you should be fine.
Three of the NBA’s most storied teams have a great shot at landing the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft as the Philadelphia 76ers own the best odds at 25 percent (64.3 percent top 3), the Los Angeles Lakershave the second best odds at 19.9 percent (55.8 top 3), and the Boston Celtics have the third best odds at 15.6 percent (46.9 top 3).
The drawing is held in private earlier in the afternoon but the results aren’t known publicly until the TV broadcast.
The actual 2016 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday, June 23 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
