What to expect from the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

Anybody who is anybody is attending the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The likes of Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook and Lewis Hamilton, Formula One triple world champion, alongside top mobile industry leaders and 1,000 global consumers are expected through the doors of the event, which takes place from Feb. 22 to 25.

Major announcements are expected and already we’ve seen the unveiling of the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7. Samsung is gaining attention after their S7 and Edge models revealed super underwater cameras and 200GB memory.

Alcatel surprised too, showing off their new logo before launching star products, like the Idol 4 and the Idol S4. The big news is the addition of the Boom button which will improve the browsing experience, user interactivity and the promise of virtual reality through the addition of a VR lens on the device.

Facebook is also causing a buzz, thanks to speculation surrounding improved video call functionality for WhatsApp.
