What’s new in the Hamptons for summer 2015

With this weekend being the unofficial start of summer, we leave behind the city for rosé and lobster rolls in the Hamptons. Here’s what’s new on the scene.

Gurney’s Montauk Resort& Seawater Spa
290 Old Montauk Highway

LDV Hospitality has completely revamped the food and nightlife scene, with five new spaces on the resort property: Tillie’s, a year-round American-style eatery; Corso Coffee, serving Tuscan espresso and locally roasted brews; Scarpetta Beach, the breezier version of the city’s iconic Italian spot; The Regent Cocktail Club, an acclaimed craft bar that began in Miami, and boasts a lounge and outdoor deck; and The Beach Club, which will hold weekly Saturday outdoor barbecues. Also new: the Hamptons’ first-ever comedy festival on May 28-29.

Montauk Yacht Club
32 Star Island Rd.

Twin night life kings Daniel and Derek Koch will get the brunch crowd on their feet every Sunday afternoon throughout the summer, beginning Memorial Day weekend. They will also reprise their RISE party series on the Saturday evenings of holiday weekends, with DJs, celebrities and live acts. The star power continues to the kitchen with a new executive chef Ron Duprat, who brought Haitian and Creole influences to French-Asian fusion cuisine on “Top Chef.”

Beautique in Southampton
Capri Hotel, 281 Country Rd.

Midtown’s upscale modern American restaurant is opening a second location this weekend, taking over the former BLT Steak space in the Capri Hotel. In the kitchen will be teen chef Greg Grossman, who put in time at the buzzy Georgica last summer, firing seasonal dishes with a French touch. You can also order Beautique’s grub poolside, in case you don’t intend on spending the summer living on Mai Tais alone.

The Club at Philippe
44 Three Mile Harbor Rd., East Hampton

After 10 years in NYC, it’s time to throw a party — or just create your own nightlife destination. Executive chef Philippe Chow himself will be in the new East End kitchen for opening weekend, serving his signature dishes like Peking Duck, carved tableside and served with housemade pancakes. (There’s also a full sushi bar.) After dark, it’s time for DJs, specialty cocktails and a new menu of late-night light bites.

Circo Southampton
268 Elm St.

Cirque du soleil just became literal. In place of one Italian brand name – Delmonico’s – rises another. The Hamptons outpost of Circo, the upscale circus-themed Italian restaurant, will be a more casual version of its Midtown sister. Expect a beach vibe and a menu that’s heavier on seafood dishes, served indoors or outside on a “lush” patio.
