It’s the first day of winter, though it feels like September never ended. But the holiday season is officially in the home stretch with only four shopping days left until Christmas, and traditions must be observed whether or not Mother Nature lets it snow.

Tonight, that tradition is the Empire State Building’s annual holiday light show, which will happen at 7 p.m. tonight to the Grammy-nominated acapella group Pentatonix’s version of Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy.

The group swung by the landmark earlier this month for a live performance of the song from “The Nutcracker,” and the light show will incorporate footage from that event. You can tune in to hear the synchronized music on 106.7 Lite FM.

To get the full effect, we recommend watching the show with a cocktail in hand atSixtyFive. Or if you’re out enjoying the warm weather, the light show will be best seen from the Brooklyn Bridge, Bryant Park, the Hudson River Esplanade, Madison Square Park, TribecaPark and the Williamsburg waterfront.
