Which commercial during Red Sox games is more annoying?

Both of these commercials received decent play during the Bruins run to the Cup Final but most thought the madness ended when Dave Bolland slipped the puck past Tuukka Rask in Game 6. As if Boston sports fans hadn’t endured enough?

These two commercials are getting non-stop play on NESN these days during 2013 Red Sox games.

The above McDonald’s commercial targets the Massachusetts/Boston accent … an angle that really has never been explored. Nope, Good Will Hunting, The Departed, the ‘Nomah sketch’ on Saturday Night Live didn’t do it. Boston residents didn’t yet know they had an accent until America’s favorite cholesterol maker said they had one. Here are some of the unbelievably annoying lines:

“From Provadence to Pahhtsmuth.”

“Hahtfud to Bahh-Habahh.”

“I Robert coffee beans.”

New England Ford Dealers “So Good – The Boston Song” commercial

At first, this one isn’t so bad. But “So Good – The Boston Song” will never find a place alongside the “1-800-54-Giant” song or “Water Country – have some fun” or “Wachusett mountain, mountain skiing, minutes away” or “Take a chance, make it happen. Pop the cork, finger snappin'” in New England commercial jingle lore.

In fact, the worst part about “So Good – The Boston Song” during these lame truck commercials is finding out that “So Good – The Boston Song” is an actual song.
