Will Ariana Grande perform at the 2019 Grammys

Ariana Grande was set to perform at the 2019 Grammys on Feb. 10, but now there are reports that the Thank U, Next singer is bowing out after having a disagreement with the producers of the show. Not only will Grande not be performing at the awards show, but she may also be skipping the event altogether despite being nominated for two awards. Grande reportedly felt “disrespected” after producers of the show sparred with her over what song she would perform. The songstress wanted to perform her latest single from her album Thank U, Next (which happens to drop this Friday) but producers were not too forthcoming about the idea. After reaching an agreement that 7 Rings would be a part of a medley, Grande still ended up pulling out of the show after the producers insisted they choose the second song from her repertoire. A source close to Grande claims that these stipulations were not imposed on any other performers at the show.

A similar situation happened last year when producers barred Lorde from performing a song from her latest album Melodrama (which ironically was nominated for Album of the Year at the time). Instead, producers offered Lorde a spot in their Tom Petty tribute, the Green Light singer declined.

Grande is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song God Is A Woman, and her fourth studio album Sweetener was also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. It was recently announced that Lady Gaga will now be performing at the awards show, possibly in the place of the No Tears Left to Cry songstress.

So will Ariana Grande perform at the 2019 Grammys? Grammy reps have not yet commented on the performance issues, and it seems we will have to tune in Sunday night to see exactly what unfolds.
