William Shatner unveiled a portrait of Spock made from a mosaic of selfies submitted by fans doing the Star Trek “live long and prosper” salute.
“Why did I ask for all those #LLAP selfies?” Shatner wrote in a tweet. “For a @gishwhes task as a tribute to Leonard. Thank you!”

As the Guardian reports, Shatner recently asked his Twitter followers to send selfies in which fans posed with the Vulcan salute.
Fans of the series have been going crazy for the portrait.
The portrait could perhaps be a mea culpa for not attending Nimoy’s funeral earlier this year. His absence from the funeral earned him a great deal of heat from the hordes of the internet.
Shatner and Nimoy had what CNN called “a unique chemistry,” and shared a close friendship both on and off screen.
