Wine cocktails are cool for the summer

Summer is here, which means it’s time to kick back with friends and your favorite boozy drink.At these bars and restaurants, you’ll never have to choose between a glass of wine and a cocktail — indulge in the best of both worlds with a wine-infused drink guaranteed to be a refreshing summer treat.

Frosé ($19)
The Drift at The Gansevoort Hotel,420 Park Ave. S.

Made with frozen rosé sorbet and topped with sparkling rosé, the Gansevoort Hotel’s froséis great for cooling down on those hot summer nights in the city. As a bonus, the hotel is promoting its new drink with a Friday happy “hour” from noon to 5 p.m. when it’s just $15 and served in a Frosé Friday souvenir cup.

Channel your inner child by pairing your wine with an ice pop at Loopy Doopy. The Hudson-adjacent rooftop bar serves your choice of chilled, in-house prosecco or rosé with rotating ice pop flavors like Blueberry Peach, Strawberry Lemongrass and Empire Apple.

While the wooden schooner that houses Grand Banks may not sail away, you can cast off your troubles by sipping a Locals Only cocktail, which features sparkling wine, elderflower liqueur, pomegranate, orange and lemon.

Indulge your sweet tooth by coupling a cookie, cupcake or slice of cake with a boozy slushie at Sweet Revenge —their Vino Granitas are made with sparkling brut, orange juice, lemon juice and your choice of fruit-flavored syrup.

Featuring sparkling Cremant with green tea syrup, lemon juice and absinthe, Porchlight’s French Kiss #2 is equal parts minty and floral, boozy and sparkling.

Astoria wine bar Winegasm serves an entire menu of wine-based cocktails for the summer.If you’re looking for a cocktail that’s on the fruitier side, try the Rose Crush, made with rosé, Campari, Soldeica pisco, grapefruit bitters and pink moscato.

Colonial ($14)

The Colonial at Tapestry, thebuzzy new restaurant owned by Michelin-starred chef Suvir Saran, puts a unique twist on the classic champagne cocktail by swapping out the bubbly for Lambrusco, a sparkling red wine. Throw in some peach liquor, Peychaud’s bitters and lemon juice, and you’ve got a balanced mix of sweet and sour in your glass.
