WNBA FanDuel Advice: Candace Parker, Skylar Diggins-Smith

Skylar Diggins-Smith Dallas Wings WNBA FanDuel

There is only one week left to go in the WNBA regular season before the playoffs begin, but still enough time to play some daily fantasy sports on FanDuel.

If you have not had the chance to play a WNBA contest on FanDuel, you are missing out. It is a lot of fun and helps you stay up on what is going on in the women’s basketball association.

Here at the Metro, we are going to give you some advice with FanDuel picks for Tuesday night’s slate of games. Remember, if you are playing an intermediate contest, for example, you only have $40,000 in salary to spend on seven roster spots (3 guards/4 forwards).

With that being said, here are three players you need to have in your lineup:

1. Dallas guard Skylar Diggins-Smith – $7,700 (34.98 FPPG)

The Wings are currently in a battle with the Las Vegas Aces for the eighth spot in the WNBA playoffs. For them to make the playoffs and for you to win your FanDuel matchup, Diggins-Smith needs to have a big game.

In her last two games, she posted 31.6 and 48 fantasy points respectively. Then to make things better, the Wings are taking on the Connecticut Sun.

Last week, these two teams just played each other and Diggins-Smith scored 22.5 fantasy points (18 points, 3 assists, 1 steal).

2. Minnesota guard Seimone Augustus – $5,200 (17.41 FPPG)

Augustus is a great low-cost option at one of the two guard positions. The veteran recently scored 24.4 fantasy points (13 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds) against the Seattle Storm on Sunday.

The Lynx are fighting for playoff positioning, as they currently hold the seventh seed.

If they can beat the Chicago Sky on Tuesday night, they could jump up to the fourth seed in the playoff standings. But would also need both the Sun and Los Angeles Sparks to lose their respective games.

In her last two games against the Sky, Augustus is averaging 19.6 fantasy points. It’s almost a guarantee that Maya Moore will go off, but having the offense of Augustus will help secure a victory.

3. Los Angeles forward Candace Parker – $8,500 (38.75 FPPG)

With Liz Cambage possibly out for the Wings tonight with a head injury, the next best option at the forward spot is Candace Parker. This season, Parker is averaging 18.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 30.4 minutes per game.

In her last three games, the Sparks forward has scored 36.6, 48.4, and 43.6 fantasy points. Not to mention, she also has posted three double-doubles in her last five contests.

Finally, another good option at the forward position is Parker’s teammate, Nneka Ogwumike. Ogwumike will cost about $7,600 but could be in line for another big game against the New York Liberty.

Against New York on Aug. 8, Ogwumike scored 35 fantasy points (18 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals) in a Sparks’ 82-81 victory.
