A woman has been arrested for impaired driving after a 25-year-old woman was fatally struck this morning in the downtown core.
The
victim was partying with a group of friends on the sidewalk of
Lippincott St., a side street off Bloor St. just east of Bathurst St.,
around 2:30 a.m.
“She apparently stumbled backwards right in front of the oncoming car,” said Sgt. Tim Burrows.
She was transported with massive head injuries to St. Michael’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.
The driver, 24, was arrested at the scene. Charges are pending, Burrows said.
