Robin Sandusky was in the middle of eating her usual kale salad from Guy & Gallard when she saw what she believed to be a big piece of asparagus, but turned out not to be a vegetable at all.

It was a severed lizard head camouflaged in with the rest of her leafy green salad. Sandusky, 31, immediately repackaged the salad, brought it back to Midtown location from her Chelsea office and received a refund for her spoiled lunch.

“It was the craziest thing,” Sandusky, a theatrical coordinator with Rodgers and Hammerstein, told The Daily News. “After a few bites, I look down at my fork, and think, ‘Oh, is that a piece of asparagus?’ And then I saw that it had eyes, and an arm.”

Sandusky said she has been ordering the same salad from the West 40th St. location and hasn’t run into a problem.

This isn’t the first time a New Yorker found an unwanted reptile in their salad. In January, a woman found a dead frog in her Pret A Manger salad in Midtown Manhattan.

“Our lettuce is sourced from farms that do not use any pesticides on its produce, therefore organic matter does very rarely manage to pass through our production process,” Pret A Manger said in a statement. “We are currently looking into this issue to make every effort that this does not happen again.”
