Woman extracted from car

Ottawa firefighters worked for half an hour to extricate an injured woman after her car was T-boned by a tractor-trailer in east Ottawa during rush hour yesterday.

Emergency workers were called to the intersection of Innes Road and Bantree Street at 8:12 a.m. The extrication team removed the roof and the passenger side door to remove the victim, who was the lone occupant of the car. Firefighters stabilized and treated the patient until paramedics arrived. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
