Vancouver Police yesterday asked for the public’s help finding the driver of a vehicle that hit a woman in the Downtown Eastside, leaving her in critical condition in hospital.
The victim was crossing the intersection at Powell Street and Jackson Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday when she was hit and knocked several metres down the road.
“Based on pieces of the vehicle left at the scene, the suspect vehicle is believed to be either a light-coloured Toyota Landcruiser between the years of 1991 and 1997 or a light-coloured Lexus LX450 between the years of 1996 and 1997,” said Const. Lindsey Houghton.
He added the car will have “significant fresh damage” to the front right headlight area.
