Woman walking home abducted, sexually assaulted: Police

Police believe a sexual predator is on the loose after an 18-year-old woman was assaulted early Thursday.

Police said the victim was walking home alone from the beltline district around 3 a.m. when a man pulled up, grabbed her and shoved her into a white van, possibly a Chevrolet Venture.

Police said the victim was then driven to the parking lot of Forest Lawn High School, where she was sexually assaulted and then forced from the vehicle.

Staff Sgt. Curtis Olson said the attack lasted 30 minutes and the woman is being treated for injuries consistent with a choking.

Police said the attack appears to be a crime of opportunity, as there was no indication the victim knew the man, who is described as a white male in his late 30s to early 40s with blonde hair, has missing teeth and a tattoo on his right shoulder. He was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans.
