Women want to get youth involved in achieving UN goals

Elyse Brazel and Sara Eftekhar have big plans for World Malaria Day.

The two women hope to bring thousands of people out to a large-scale event on Parliament Hill next April 25 to raise awareness and funds to help eradicate malaria.

The two women are part of a group of 30 young people working around the world as part of the Faiths Act Fellowship program.

Over the next eight months, Brazel, 26, and Eftekhar, 19, are hoping to bring Ottawa youth from different religious and philosophical backgrounds together for various community service projects that work towards achieving the UN’s Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
